Contributions of the Wallace Community Players
1977 Money was raised for the senior class Washington D.C. trip. 1978-79 Money was raised for Commercial Club projects. 1980-84 The Players purchased a stove for the Community Hall and gave money for the Jaws For Life and the Wellfleet Swimming Pool. 1985 The Players raised money for community Christmas lights. 1986 The Players added to their costumes and props and donated to the park restroom project. 1987 The Players helped bring speaker Roger Welch to the Centennial Celebration and purchased ceiling fans for the Community Hall. 1988 The projects were the Trees for Wallace Fund and the Ball Field. 1990 New flats were built in cooperation with the school drama department and a new sound system was added. 1991 Money was donated toward a Community Hall piano and melodrama costumes and clothes racks were increased. 1992-93 The Community Hall stage ceiling was repaired and the stage lighting was upgraded with track lighting and the lighting control panel was updated. Removable foot lights were also built. 1994 The Community Hall was thoroughly cleaned, additional ceiling lights were installed, stage extensions were built and a partial wall was added on the west end. 1995-96 $750 was donated for repairs on the Community Hall roof. 1997 $100 was donated to the Town for heating the Hall. 1998 $700 was donated for the Community Hall Restoration Project. $400 in January for a window and $300 in March for electrical wiring for the stage. 1999 Flats were adjusted to fit at the community hall. The group purchased silverware for 100, 24 pitchers, and 10 insulated coffee servers and a 5 gal. Thermos jug. Donated $150 to the back stairs deck project at the hall. Plus $100 was donated to the town to pay for Hall heating. 2000 $150 contribution to the Community Hall back deck. 2001 Money was donated to increase the lighting and mirrors in the women’s bathroom at the Community Hall. Ryan Finley and Don Barner donated their labor for the project. 2002 $500 was donated to the Wallace School playground equipment project and $200 was given to the FCCLA group traveling to compete at the National Convention in July. $100 was given to the town for Hall heating. 2003 $200 was given to the FCCLA group returning to National Convention. Trish Dunn was the first recipient of the $200 Player’s Scholarship. More funds were invested in sound equipment. |
